Crawling

Or at least some form of it.

And in case you’re wondering, yes she did touch it. And yank it off! Sigh.

I’m also kinda miffed at the quality of my Flip cam? Pretty crappy, right?

Here are some other pictures I took yesterday of Seren ‘exploring’ (which I also now call, ‘finding as many things I can destroy or hurt myself with as possible’ – seriously, put a toy in front of her and she’s all meh, put a boiling pot of water in front of her and SHAZZAM! Moving baby! I would like to point out that no boiling pans of water have been placed in front of baby to prove my theory, but I’m pretty certain it would).

Shindig

August, it appears, is the time to go ‘home’. The last time we travelled across the pond we were a couple, now we fly as a Family. This in itself brings about a whole new list of anxiety-driven questions such as ‘how much stuff do we need to take?’, ‘how will she do on the flight?’ (an 8 hour red-eye!!!!???), ‘where will she nap/eat/sleep/breathe??’. Oh and ‘where will mommy have her mental breakdown?’ – if it hasn’t already occurred during the preparation.

Whilst I pondered this list of life-or-death issues the other night, I made a suggestion I am very likely to regret.

Christening! Let’s have a Christening.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about the event – it’s something very important to me and I want to do it before she’s too old (substitute ‘wriggly’, ‘tantrum-prone’, ‘un-cooperative’) – but what started out as a 20 people family only affair with refreshments at my sister’s house, has turned into a 100+ people, road-closing, televised event (ok that last part is a lie, but it might as well be; that’s pretty much the population of the town we’re from). Large crowds scare me, unless I am part of that crowd and not the focus of the occasion. It’s like my wedding all over again!

At least one good thing will come of the day, besides the obvious welcoming my baby into the Church, which is that she’ll be able to meet all our family members and friends in one swoop. So we don’t have to drag her around the country for 3 days. Amen to that.

As always, I’ve already put my planning hat on and chosen her Christening Gown.  I’m thinking of a hair band with flowers and maybe a little white feather instead of the more traditional bonnet, I just feel she’s a little older for that. Time to trawl 80,000 pages of Etsy methinks!! Speaking of which, this is going to be an absolute must for the after-party (I don’t know what else to call it when you hire a function room for so many people):

The BIGGER The Bow The Closer To Heaven

LOL I love it!! Made by an Etsy seller Berlins Boutique.

So, we’re having a shindig. I’m nervous, excited and peeing my pants all at the same time. And I’m pretty certain Seren will be doing exactly the same thing.

Bless her.

(get it?).

I Can Haz Issuez

# 1 – My laptop died. Again. It was a tough time for us. It was a time to have shares in Pinot Grigio. But alas the dead laptop t’was reborn – on Easter Sunday no less. So I am now calling it Jesus. Jesus is working a lot better without the ten thousand jpeg files and various other junk installed on it. He’s a simple soul. So we’re happy. Pinot sales have since dropped. Sorry Ramona.

# 2 – Seren has teeth. Two of them. She will not under any circumstances allow anyone to photograph them. Or touch them. Or clean them.  They have an attitude all of their own it seems. I’ll get them one day.

Oh and she’s seven months, how the eff did that happen?

“Seren, show me your teeefs”?

Mmm hmm.

Oh oh, and she’s MOBILE!! Help me Jesus, I need to babyproof. Like yesterday.

Last week I left her for a 2 minute bathroom break, and returned to find her chomping down on an old Parenting magazine she found in the magazine rack. For someone who is more shuffling than crawling, she sure gets around fast.

# 3 – Last episode of Bethenny Ever After next Monday. I thought I might not survive without her, or I’d need a Pinot IV, until I found her website, and Feitelogram blog. I think I’ll do just fine (and Real Housewives of New Jersey is right around the corner! THEREEEEEEESSSAAA!!!!!).

# 4 – I am addicted to Instagram. Funny because I don’t have an iphone – but the husband does. So ‘we’ are addicted to Instagram. And it’s freeee!!!

# 5 – Kate and Wills got married. I was not invited. I was however watching at 4am thanks to one unruly, unsleeping child. I thought the day was lovely. I thought they were mad riding in the carriage with a runaway horse charging alongside (anyone else see that?). But the day was lovely nonetheless.

I think that’s the majority of my current Issuez covered. For now at least.
